The Calais Regional Hospital Auxiliary has once again taken action to support the needs of the hospital. The members donated over $5700 to complete the funds required for a new birthing bed for the obstetrics area and an electrocautery unit for the surgery department. The Auxiliary raises funds for the support of the hospital through various events such as raffles, book fairs, bizaares and especially through the operation of the coffee shop in the hospital’s main lobby.
The volunteers of the Auxiliary and coffee shop work tirelessly to support CRH. Membership pledged $50,000 to the capital campaign to build the new facility, which was fulfilled in 2007. The same year also saw the Auxiliary purchase new educational equipment for the organization and an ultrasound chair for the radiology department. The group’s support of the hospital over the years has filled many needs for the benefit of community members.
The Auxiliary is always open to new members and new volunteer coffee shop workers wanting to help support Calais Regional Hospital.
