Calais Regional Medical Services Welcomes New Family Nurse Practitioner
Calais Regional Medical Services, along with Calais Regional Hospital, is pleased to welcome Sally Johnson, Family Nurse Practitioner. Sally worked at CRH for 15 years as a Registered Nurse. Since earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 1999, she has worked at a local Health Center providing primary care for local residents.
Sally is a hometown girl who graduated from Woodland High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Southern Maine and returned home to begin her career at CRH. Sally’s experience while working as a Registered Nurse included intensive care, emergency, cardiac rehabilitation and inpatient care. | |
In 1997 Sally decided it was time to further her education and began classes to earn her Family Nurse Practitioner degree.
Over the last 11 years, Sally has provided primary care services to all ages, from infants to those in their nineties and young at heart. She has experience with preventative care, acute care and care of chronic conditions. She has also served as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students.
Sally’s experience will round out the continuum of care offered to patients at CRMS, expanding their options in health care. While she will be carrying her own patient load for those who prefer the greater amount of time that a Nurse Practitioner is able to devote to her patients, she will also serve as “back up” for CRMS’ two physicians, whose schedules can sometimes get heavy during peak periods of illness.
Sally has two sons, one a college student at the University of Maine the other a sophomore in Calais. In her down time Sally enjoys photography, skiing, and when vacationing, scuba diving.
Sally began seeing patients on April 12. If you would like to meet Sally or schedule an appointment, call CRMS at 454-8195, option 1. If you wish to have your records transferred to CRMS, a medical records release form is available on the CRH website, www.calaishospital.com. Midway down the home page is a box with online features that includes a release forms option. Simply print the release form, complete it and mail it to your primary care provider. |
