Calais Regional Medical Services Welcomes New Physician Assistant

Calais Regional Medical Services (CRMS) Rural Health Clinic is pleased to welcome Physician Assistant Chrys Landrigan to the practice. Chrys brings over ten years experience to CRMS as a physician assistant. Prior to coming to Calais, Chrys worked at Penobscot Community Health Care Clinic in Bangor, took traveling assignments as a physician assistant, worked at Pleasant Point Health Center in Perry and at the Hematology/Oncology Centers of the Northern Rockies.

Chrys will not replace patients’ options with physicians at the CRMS Rural Health Clinic, but expand their access to immediate health care. While she will be carrying her own patient load for those who prefer the greater amount of time that a Physician Assistant is able to devote to patients, she will also serve as “back up” for CRMS’ physicians, whose schedules can sometimes get heavy during peak periods of illness.

Chrys Landrigan, PA-C, holds a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree, specializing in oncology, from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska as well as a Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Boston University.

Chrys has a very diverse background working everywhere from a small general store in the northwest corner of Montana with no electricity or water, to working at the New England Aquarium in Boston, and even serving as a vice president of Sotheby’s in New York City - the world’s largest art auction gallery. For the last seven years Chrys has called Eastport home. In her downtime she can usually be found golfing or fishing. “After two years working a way, it is very nice being closer to home,” Chrys stated. “I look forward to being an active member of my community again.” She served on the boards of the St. Croix Country Club and Downeast Hospice in the past.

Chrys began seeing patients at CRMS on November 16, 2009. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, call CRMS at 454-8195. She will also be available to Chris Scalabrin’s patients as he begins his transition to the CRMS Orthopedics practice on a full time basis.
