| In October of 2009 Lane Construction employees supported Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for the American Cancer Society with a pancake breakfast at the Charlotte Elementary School. During this event a raffle of items donated by local businesses was also held. The Lane Construction staff decided to donate the proceeds from the raffle to Calais Regional Hospital's Digital Mammography Fundraising Campaign. "The employees thought they should do something to support a local organization as well with its efforts against breast cancer," explained Lane Construction employee Margaret Cheney.
