Dr. Walter obtained his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his pediatric residency at Buffalo Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York and Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Dr. Walter spent twenty-four years practicing general pediatrics in the Lewiston area and working at Central Maine Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before moving to Bangor and EMMC.

During his career, Dr. Walter has shared his expertise and knowledge by teaching family practice residents at Central Maine Medical Center and medical students, physician assistant and nursing students from the University of New England Medical College. He has also served as Chief of Pediatrics at St. Mary’s Hospital and Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Dr. Walter’s wife, Donna, works with children with autism in the Bangor school system. Their daughter and son-in-law live in Auburn, where they both teach Spanish in the local school systems. When Dr. Walter isn’t at the office or hospital, he enjoys a variety of activities and interests including; photography, electronics, and American and Civil War history.
