Prenatal Classes
The biggest obstacle first-time parents to be are faced with is fear of the unknown. We encourage all new parents-to-be to participate in the prenatal classes offered through CRH, which are held four times per year. The more expectant parents know and understand about the process of labor and delivery, the better prepared they will be to choose the best options available. Class participants may borrow from our child birth/child care video library. This video series addresses the emotional needs as well as physical needs of the newborn, and helps parents create a loving and nurturing environment to help their new child grow and thrive.
In additional to prenatal classes we encourage expectant parents to prepare a birthing plan and discuss that plan with their health care provider. For more information on creating a birthing plan we suggest visiting http://birthplan.com.
All new parents will be given the "New Infant and Mother Care" handbook, prepared by the Obstetrics Staff at CRH.
