 The Social Services Department of Calais Regional Hospital has a licensed social worker employed full time. The purpose of the department is to assist patients/residents and their families with issues of a psycho-social nature, including the process of discharge planning. The social worker can make referrals to appropriate agencies in the community for support such as home health, assisted-living facilities, nursing facilities and other available community resources.
